Anonymous asked: Let's be honest with ourselves - when so many white cops DO abuse their authority, entertaining the notion of removing all white police officers is hardly an unfair generalization. And it's not just a case of educating the police, that's a band-aid on a cut throat. You have to educate the society those people came from. The child-killing cop is himself the child of a thoroughly rotted, diseased society and culture. Racism is a tumor, not a grazed knee.

THAT IS A VERY UNFAIR GENERALIZATION!!!!!!

Wow. Way to not help the situation, dude. As someone who has had many family and friends in the police force, It is appalling that someone could look at a situation like what’s happening in Ferguson and go “you know what might really solve this? Segregation!” Because no one is going to agree to not letting white people on the police force. At most, they would stop having white officers is primarily black neighborhoods.  And what comes after that? Not running the risk of having racist doctors by not letting white people treat black people? When would it stop being about protecting citizens and take a giant step backwards in cultural evolution?

The supremacists would be delighted to comply with you! Hey, let’s stop having white cops in black neighborhoods! Let’s stop “running the risk of racism in schools” by making separate schools for black and white kids!

Don’t you see how an act like that would snowball? How terrible the consequences could be for setting a precedent such as that?

The fact of the matter is that education, understanding and compromise are the only solutions. They are the only thing that will make a real and positive change.

Very belated Boston Pride 2014 photos. Spent the whole day with one amazing babe and would not have wanted to share my first pride with anyone else. Thanks, Abbi, for an awesome day. You’re the best.

apparently e.l. james called former child star mara wilson (matilda) a “sad f**k” for critiquing the 50shades books a while ago and now there’s a feud. i love it.

Cis people love to shut down people who talk about trans and intersex issues by saying that they’re “only 1% of the population” and thus can be ignored since they “aren’t statistically significant enough.”

By that logic, we can now systematically ignore:

  • Redheads
  • The entire state of Rhode Island
  • Anyone who makes over $500,000 a year
  • Pacific Islanders
  • Celiac Disease
  • Jewish people
  • Australia

I’m happy to say I’ve never encountered a cis who was that much of an asshole. I am cisgendered, but most people I talk to in regards to gender stuff pretty much say “eh, whatever makes you happy.”

Next time you encounter an assclown just tell ‘em that seeing as they are less than one percent of cis people, they aren’t statistically significant enough to have a fucking opinion. And tell them that I personally said, “sit down and shut your stupid face” :)

(From what I understand, the police thought they heard a gunshot and started throwing tear gas into the crowd. Correct me if I’m wrong)

This is real. This is real. This is real.

You know, when I was a kid I seriously considered becoming a cop. I’m a girl, I’m built for being an officer and I really wanted to help people. I think all kids who grow up to be cops feel the same way. How the hell did they become this? How did people turn so corrupt and so hateful and violent and prejudiced? When did being an officer stop being about protecting and defending the people of your community?

Not all cops, obviously. But enough that in some places (like Ferguson) kids are growing up to fear the people they should depend on. And that isn’t acceptable.

This is what the people of Ferguson are up against and if you still don’t think that this is a big deal then you need to wake the fuck up

wtfff

Holy shit. What the hell is wrong with our world? How the fuck is this okay or acceptable for any police unit to do? It’s not. Innocent people are being terrorized by the people who swore to defend and protect them, and it’s sickening to see such a flagrant abuse and misuse of power. My heart goes out to the people of Ferguson.

Deleted scene - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

WHY WAS THIS DELETED

THIS IS VERY SIGNIFICANT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

WHY THE FLYING FUCK WOULD YOU DELETE THIS

they also deleted Dudley saying that Harry isn’t a waste of space.

WHY NO

because they thought a creepy-ass scene where harry does up ginny’s dress was more worth the screentime

SOMEONE SAID IT

Or because developing a relationship between Harry and his main love interest was more significant to the movie than trying to shoe horn in a one-sentence redemption arc for the woman who emotionally abused and neglected her sister’s son and who did absolutely nothing to stop her husband and son from physically abusing him. Maybe. Maybe because at no time in either books or movies did Petunia ever show anything but contempt and resentment for Lily, nor did she do anything but the absolute bare-minimum to raise Harry.

I found this. The ending devistated me, but it’s well worth the watch, the music is great.
